Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the only currently active civil airport in the US with a runway above an interstate. The airport's fifth runway, which opened in 2006, spans eight lanes of Interstate-285 and was designed for an ultimate I-285 buildout of 18 lanes.
