Airport Road, Ontario, Canada

Airport Road, Ontario, is a major roadway in Canada. It is an 81km (50-mile) north–south urban and rural thoroughfare, running through the Regional Municipality of Peel and Dufferin County. It begins at Highway 427 in Mississauga, tracing a broad curve as a continuation of Toronto's east–west Dixon Road. It passes over and under Highway 409 and its ramps that serve as the airport's freeway access. It then straightens to join the main road grid and runs northwest, passing Air Canada's operations centre, the airport's cargo facilities, and the east end of Runway 36R, a popular location for plane spotting.

At Derry Road, Airport Road enters the Malton neighbourhood, passing under the tracks of GO Transit's Kitchener Line. It then enters a mixed residential and industrial zone, intersecting with the tolled Highway 407 and Queen Street. North of Williams Parkway, the road passes through a newer, developing retail and residential area and narrows to four lanes. Shortly after, it narrows to two lanes as it enters the rural town of Caledon. From there, the road continues through the communities of Mono Road and Caledon East, and enters the Oak Ridges Moraine, where it becomes hilly and picturesque.

At Highway 9, Airport Road becomes Dufferin Road 18 as it enters Dufferin County and the Town of Mono. Airport Road is designated as Peel Regional Road 7 and Dufferin County Road 18. It gets its name from Toronto Pearson International Airport, which it passes by at its southern terminus. It is a four- to six-lane suburban arterial road through Mississauga and Brampton and a two-lane rural road for the remainder of its length. It is a popular alternative route to the combination of Highway 10 and former Highway 24 for travellers from the western Greater Toronto Area heading to the Georgian Triangle.
