In 1949, the airport added terminals B and C, which are still in use today.
In the 1950s, the airport expanded further, adding an international terminal and extending runways to accommodate larger aircraft. By 1959, the airport had four runways and an expanded terminal with 45 gates, offering daily PanAm service to Europe. In 1957, the Official Airline Guide listed 49 weekday departures from the airport, and by the early 1950s, airlines such as BOAC and Air France had started nonstop service to European destinations.
Modernisation
