Tsa Precheck Enrollment: Airports Offering Easy Sign-Up

Applicants can choose any enrolment provider based on cost, locations, and additional benefits. Enrolment centres are open 7 days a week with extended hours, and the enrolment process takes only a few minutes. TSA PreCheck® enrolment options

TSA PreCheck® is a program that expedites traveller screening through participating TSA security checkpoints. To enrol in TSA PreCheck®, you can follow the steps outlined below or walk into any enrolment location.

Firstly, select an enrolment provider based on cost, locations, and additional benefits. Costs for enrolment vary by provider, and different providers may have different benefits.

Secondly, submit your TSA PreCheck® application online. This can be done in as little as 5 minutes.

Finally, complete your enrolment at your chosen provider. This includes fingerprinting, document and photo capture, and payment. This step can be completed in as little as 10 minutes.

Alternatively, you can enrol in TSA PreCheck® by IDEMIA. With this option, you can submit an application and set an appointment or renew your current membership. If you have already enrolled through IDEMIA, you can look up your KTN (Known Traveler Number) and its expiration date.

It is important to note that certain violations of federal security regulations, such as assault, threat, or interference with security operations, may result in a temporary or permanent suspension from participation in TSA PreCheck®. All travellers, including TSA PreCheck® enrollees, must also have a REAL ID or other acceptable form of identification, such as a passport, once the REAL ID requirement is enforced at airports.

TSA PreCheck® renewal process

The renewal process for TSA PreCheck® is straightforward. Members can renew their membership online or in person at an enrollment centre. Online renewal can be completed in as little as 5 minutes, and members can renew up to six months before their expiration date. The new membership period begins as the current one ends, so there is no disadvantage to renewing early.

To renew online, members must pick an enrollment provider and submit their application. The enrollment provider can be chosen based on cost, locations, and additional benefits. The application process includes fingerprinting, document and photo capture, and payment. Most applicants receive approval notification within 3-5 days, but some applications can take up to 60 days. Therefore, it is recommended to renew at least 60 days before expiry.

If members have changed their name since enrollment, they must visit an enrollment centre to complete the renewal process in person or update their name by contacting the enrollment provider. Name changes may take up to 45 days to process, and the time varies by individual.

Members who have had their TSA PreCheck® membership suspended or revoked may be eligible for the return of lost time if the suspension occurred due to a false match with another individual. Reconsideration is available for those disqualified due to a regulatory violation, and redress is available for those incorrectly disqualified.

Members will keep the same Known Traveler Number (KTN) during the renewal process.

TSA PreCheck® eligibility

TSA PreCheck® is a program that expedites traveller screening through participating TSA security checkpoints. To be eligible for the program, you must be a U.S. citizen, a U.S. lawful permanent resident, or a citizen of a partner country enrolled in Global Entry, NEXUS, or SENTRI. Canadian citizens who are members of NEXUS are also eligible.

If you are a member of one of these trusted traveller programs, you can enter your membership number (also known as a Known Traveller Number or KTN) in the "Known Traveller Number" field when booking reservations or add it to your frequent flyer profile with the airline. This number enables the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to verify that you are a legitimate Trusted Traveller and eligible for TSA PreCheck®.

You can find your Trusted Traveller member number by logging into your account with the trusted traveller program you are enrolled in. The KTN will also be displayed on your boarding pass if you are eligible for TSA PreCheck® on your flight. Please note that you must have the TSA PreCheck® indicator on your boarding pass to access the TSA PreCheck® lane.

TSA PreCheck® memberships last five years. The fee covers the operational costs associated with the TSA PreCheck® Application Program and maintains your eligibility for this period.

TSA PreCheck® enrolment providers

The TSA has selected several partners to help enrol travellers in TSA PreCheck®, and applicants can pick any enrolment provider based on cost, locations, and additional benefits. Some of the enrolment providers include:

• IDEMIA: Enrolling in TSA PreCheck® by IDEMIA allows for expedited air travel security screening. You can submit an application, set an appointment, or renew your current membership.
• Telos: Enrolling in TSA PreCheck® with Telos may also qualify you for upcoming travel deals.
• CLEAR: Renewing your TSA PreCheck® membership through CLEAR may qualify you for discounts on other CLEAR travel products.

It is important to note that all travellers, including TSA PreCheck® enrollees, must have a REAL ID or other acceptable form of identification, such as a passport, to fly once the TSA enforces the REAL ID requirement at airports. Additionally, certain violations of federal security regulations, such as assault, threat, or interference, may result in denial or suspension of participation in TSA PreCheck®.

TSA PreCheck® enrolment for children

Children who are 12 years old and younger can use the TSA PreCheck® lane if they are travelling with a parent or guardian who has enrolled in the programme. They do not need to enrol themselves.

Children aged 13 to 17 can access the TSA PreCheck® lane if they are on the same reservation as a parent or guardian who is TSA PreCheck®-eligible and they have the TSA PreCheck® logo on their boarding pass. If they are on a separate reservation from their parent or guardian, they will not have access to the TSA PreCheck® lane. In this case, they will need to go through standard security screening.

Children aged 17 and under who are travelling alone or without a TSA PreCheck®-eligible adult must apply for TSA PreCheck® to have access to expedited screening. They can enrol in the programme by following these three steps:

• Submit a TSA PreCheck® application online.
• Complete the enrolment in person at an enrolment centre, which includes fingerprinting, document and photo capture, and payment.
• Receive the TSA PreCheck® logo on their boarding pass.
