Airport history and design
Portland International Airport (PDX) is located in Portland, Oregon. The airport's history dates back to the late 1920s when Dr. Clifford "Kip" Strange created a private airfield on his extensive land in Portland. Over time, other flyers were attracted to the airfield, and in 1934, Boston & Maine Airways inaugurated airline service at the facility.
