Dehradun Airport
Uttarakhand, a state in India, has three main airports, a few airstrips, and several proposed airstrips for military and emergency purposes. One of the main airports is Dehradun Airport, also known as Jolly Grant Airport, which serves Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. It is located in Jauligrant, about 25 kilometres (16 miles) south of the city, 20 kilometres (12 miles) from Rishikesh, and 35 kilometres (22 miles) from Haridwar. The nearest railway station to the airport is approximately 20 kilometres away.
The airport was constructed in 1974, and Vayudoot operated scheduled services to New Delhi, Lucknow, and Pantnagar from 1982 to 1995. Commercial operations resumed in March 2008, after the Airports Authority of India (AAI) completed its modernisation plan, which included extending and broadening the runway to accommodate larger aircraft, such as the Boeing 737 and the Airbus A320. The erstwhile terminal was built in 2008, and a new terminal building was inaugurated in February 2009. The current passenger terminal was inaugurated in October 2021, as part of the airport's expansion and redevelopment project, which cost approximately ₹486 crore (US$57 million).
The new terminal covers an area of 42,776 square metres (460,440 square feet) and has a capacity of 3,240 passengers during peak hours and 4.7 million passengers annually, an eightfold increase in capacity. The terminal includes check-in areas, a security hold, an arrival lounge, and various offices. It is equipped with 48 check-in counters, four conveyor belts, 12 baggage X-ray machines, retail and commercial spaces, and a parking space that can accommodate 500 vehicles.

Uttarakhand has three main airports, a few airstrips, and several proposed airstrips for military and emergency purposes. One of these main airports is Pantnagar Airport, a domestic airport serving Pantnagar and its adjoining regions, located in the Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand, India. It is operated by the Airports Authority of India and is the nearest airport to the Kumaon division. It is located in the middle of Haldwani and Rudrapur, the two largest cities of Kumaon. It is 26 km from Haldwani and from the Kumaon hill stations of Nainital (65 km), Bhimtal (50 km), Ranikhet (110 km), Almora (120 km), Bareilly (65 km), and the Jim Corbett National Park (120 km).

The annual subsidy was not renewed in 2008 when the runway length was increased. The government then invited Deccan Aviation to fly on the Delhi–Pantnagar route. Kingfisher Airlines, which took over Deccan Aviation, undertook seasonal flights to Pantnagar as poor weather did not allow it to fly around the year. The airport had been without a commercial service ever since Kingfisher ceased operations. Pantnagar Airport now has daily Alliance Air flights to and from IGI, Delhi (since 1 October 2014), and an Air Heritage flight for Pithoragarh.
In August 2015, the Airport Advisory Committee announced that the airport will be developed into a cargo hub, and the length of the runway would be increased from its present length of 1,372 m to 1,865 m. The airport has had a facility of meteorological services by the India Meteorological Department since its inception. In 2020, Uttarakhand's then Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat, announced that the Pantnagar Airport will be expanded to become Uttarakhand's first international airport.

Bharkot Airport
Uttarakhand has its fair share of airports, including Bharkot Airport, which is also known as Chinyalisaur Airport. Bharkot Airport is located in Chinyalisaur of Uttarkashi district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The airport is situated near Tehri Lake and is currently not operational for domestic flights. Gauchar Airport

Naini Saini Airport
Uttarakhand, a state in India, has its fair share of airports used by tourists and pilgrims alike. One of these airports is the Naini Saini Airport, also known as Pithoragarh Airport or Pithoragarh Airstrip. The airport is located in Pithoragarh, in the Kumon or Kumaon region, 4.5 kilometres (2.8 miles) northeast of the city centre. It is situated in the Naini Saini Village near Jajerdewal.
In August 2022, regular helicopter services to Dehradun and Pantnagar resumed from the airport through Pawan Hans. The Naini Saini Airport features a 1,600-metre (5,200-foot) long and 30-metre (98-foot) wide runway, capable of handling ATR 72 type aircraft. The airport also has an apron for parking two ATR-72 type aircraft, a 2,440-square-metre (26,300-square-foot) passenger terminal that can serve up to 300,000 passengers annually, an Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, a fire station, and a technical block. The government of Uttarakhand has upgraded the airport to Category "2C" under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) conditions to facilitate development, connectivity, socio-economic growth, and tourism in the state. In the coming years, the airport will undergo further expansion to accommodate more passengers and larger aircraft, with plans for night landing facilities.
