If your Apple AirPort Extreme is not responding to your commands, has forgotten your password, or is not functioning as it should, you may need to reset it. There are three types of reset: soft, hard, and factory reset. A soft reset will reset the base station's password and disable security, but will keep all your other settings. A hard reset will reset your AirPort base station to the factory settings, but will retain all old configurations. A factory reset will restore your AirPort to its default settings.

Soft reset
To soft reset your AirPort Extreme, first make sure your device is connected to a power source. Then, locate the reset button. Hard reset
