By Public Transportation

Public transportation is a convenient and sustainable option to get to and from Athens Airport. Here are the different public transport options available:

• Metro: You can use Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) to travel between the airport and the city centre ("Dimotiko Theatro" station) or Piraeus station. The estimated travel time to Piraeus is around 60 minutes.
• Suburban Railway: The Suburban Railway (Proastiakos) connects Athens Airport with the central Athens railway station, Larissis Station, in approximately 45 minutes. Trains depart from the airport every 15-25 minutes to Doukissis Plakentias station, where you can transfer to the Athens Metro network using the same ticket. The Suburban Railway also connects the airport with Ano Liosia and Piraeus, and destinations outside Attica.
• Bus: There are four express bus routes (X93, X95, X96, and X97) that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, connecting the airport with Syntagma Square (X95), Piraeus (X96), Kifissos & Liossion Intercity Bus Stations (X93), and "Elliniko" Metro Station ("Dafni" during night hours) (X97). These buses depart every 30 to 60 minutes, and tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth outside the arrivals hall. One-way tickets cost €5.50, with discounted rates for children, teenagers, and seniors.

By Taxi

Taxis are readily available outside Exit 3 of the arrivals level. The fare from the airport to the city centre is a flat rate of €40 from 5 am to midnight and €55 from midnight to 5 am. This rate includes all applicable surcharges.
