What You'll Learn

The BART station is located in the International Terminal
The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is located in the International Terminal. This is the only BART station at SFO, and it is the end of the line. The BART extension to the airport was first proposed in 1970, before the initial system opened, and the station was built in concert with the International Terminal.
The BART station is a short walk from Terminals 1 and 3, and the AirTrain Red Line can also be taken from the BART station to these terminals, as well as Terminal 2. If you are flying internationally, turn right when leaving customs and take the escalator up to the departures level. Walk straight and turn left at the art exhibit, and you will see the station entrance.
The BART station is accessible via the AirTrain, which has a station located above the west half of the BART station. The AirTrain system opened in 2003, with BART service to the airport beginning shortly after. There is no BART parking at the airport, but multi-day reserved parking can be purchased at Millbrae Station, which is connected to the airport via BART.
