Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL)
The airport covers 4,220 to 4,520 acres of land and is larger than the resort destination of Waikiki, which is located 10 miles to the south. It has four active runways, including the 12,000-foot Reef Runway, the world's first major runway built entirely offshore. The airport is served by international and domestic carriers, inter-island airlines, and commuter airlines, with non-stop flights to many places in North America, Asia, and Oceania. It is the main hub of Hawaiian Airlines and a base for Aloha Air Cargo. The airport was originally known as Keahole-Kona International Airport in 1993, emphasising its proximity to the nearby resort town of Kona. In 1997, it was renamed the Kona International Airport at Keahole. It was only in 2017 that the airport was given its current name to honour Onizuka.

Kahului Airport (OGG)
The history of the airport dates back to 1927 when the Territorial Legislature allocated $15,000 to acquire land for an airport site on Maui. The site chosen was at Maalaea, and the property was acquired from a Hawaiian sugar company. Kahului Airport is served by many major and minor airlines and serves an average of 7,000 passengers per day, making it the second busiest airport in Hawaii. Lihue Airport provides passenger and aircraft facilities for domestic, overseas, and interisland carriers, as well as commuter/air taxi, air cargo, heliport, and general aviation services.
