Pierre Trudeau served as Canada's prime minister from 1968 to 1979, and again from 1980 to 1984. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, in 1919, and studied politics and law. He was praised for his intellect and political acumen, although critics accused him of arrogance and economic mismanagement.
