Airport Road in Ontario, Canada, is a major roadway that runs through the Regional Municipality of Peel and Dufferin County. It is 81 kilometres or 50 miles long, beginning at Highway 427 in Mississauga and ending at the boundary of Simcoe County, where it transitions into Simcoe County Road 42. North of Caledon East, Airport Road enters the Oak Ridges Moraine and begins to traverse the hills that define much of rural Airport Road. In combination with Simcoe County Road 42 and Highway 26 north of Stayner, Airport Road is a popular non-highway route from the Greater Toronto Area to the Georgian Triangle, including the tourist towns of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, and The Blue Mountains. It offers a scenic alternative to Highway 10, former Highway 24, and Highway 400.

The road is also known as County Road 18 and is close to the eastern boundary of Mono. It is flanked by Highway 9 to the south and Highway 89 to the north. A drive up Airport Road, Highway 410, and Highway 10 will take you to Mono. If you're coming from the north on Highway 400, take the Highway 89 exit west and head to Rosemont via Cookstown and Alliston. You'll know you've reached Mono when you see the large Hills of Headwaters sign on your right.
The character of Airport Road changes dramatically as you cross Highway 9 and leave the Greater Toronto Area, entering the County of Dufferin and Escarpment Country. The rolling fields of Caledon give way to the rugged highlands of Mono, with beautiful scenery that includes deep gorges cut by rivers flowing into three Great Lakes. The road is steep in places, and a sign at the entrance to Dufferin County warns drivers that 62 people have died there since 1978.
The road wasn't finished until the early 1970s, and it presented a significant engineering challenge due to the rugged terrain. The road has been ignored in local history because it was never designated as a provincial highway. However, it was an important route for settlers travelling from Toronto to settlements in Caledon, Albion, and Mono as early as 1824. It was also a favourite route for bringing goods from Mono and Orangeville down to Toronto.

The Airport Connector in Rhode Island is the first road that visitors experience when arriving at Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport.
