In 2014, the Fayetteville Airport Commission, airport management, and the Fayetteville City Council proposed plans to expand the airport terminal. This expansion included the replacement of the older ground-level Concourse A with an elevated concourse, matching the design of Concourse B. The new Concourse A will feature adjustable-height jet bridges capable of accommodating larger aircraft, along with expanded seating and dining facilities. Additionally, the expansion will provide more space for TSA operations, allowing for multiple security lanes to enhance passenger security and flow.
