Charleston International Airport
The airport consists of four main areas: the military area to the west, the airline terminal to the south, the general aviation area to the east, and the Boeing assembly area further south. In the following decades, the airport changed hands several times, with civilian portions eventually being transferred to the Charleston County Aviation Authority in 1979. The current terminal was built in the 1980s, and a significant redevelopment project was completed in 2016, adding five gates and renovating the facility's interior.

Myrtle Beach International Airport
The history of Myrtle Beach International Airport dates back to 1958 when funds were allocated to the Horry County Jetport in Crescent Beach. In 1977, the City of Myrtle Beach annexed the area, and the airport became jointly used by civilian and military operations. However, this limited civil operations to only 30 landings per day. As a result, a local business movement advocated for the construction of a new airport. Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport
GSP airport opened on October 15, 1962, replacing the Greenville Downtown Airport as the region's primary airline destination. Initially, only Eastern Air Lines and Southern Airways moved to the new airport, while Delta Air Lines discontinued its service. However, in recent years, the airport has seen the arrival of low-cost carriers, reducing fares and boosting passenger numbers. Located roughly 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Charlotte's central business district, the airport covers 5,558 acres (2,249 ha) of land. It is operated by the city of Charlotte's aviation department.
