In September 2021, Allegiant Air announced that it would be discontinuing service to Cleveland and returning to Akron-Canton Airport, flying to four different destinations with operations beginning on March 2, 2022. The airline will offer service twice per week to Savannah, Georgia, and three Florida cities: Punta Gorda, Sarasota, and St. Petersburg. Allegiant initially offered service from Akron-Canton in May 2015 but moved to Hopkins in February 2017.
