By train: Amtrak or MTA MARC
Passengers can exit BWI Marshall Airport by train using either Amtrak or MTA MARC services. A free shuttle service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, between the MARC/Amtrak station and the BWI Marshall Airport terminal. Shuttles run approximately every 10-15 minutes, except between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., when they operate every 25 minutes.
At the MARC/Amtrak station, the shuttles stop adjacent to the rail station garage, directly across from the rail station. By bus: MTA Route 75
One way to exit BWI Marshall Airport is by taking the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) Route 75 bus. This route has undergone several changes over the years, including cuts to its service in 1996 and revisions in 2006.
As of 2006, the MTA revised its plan for Route 75, previously known as Route 17, to operate from the Patapsco Light Rail Stop to Arundel Mills. This service is provided every 30 minutes during rush hour and every 90 minutes at other times. Riders west of Arundel Mills to Parkway Center will not be served by this route.
In 1996, MTA's Route 17 faced significant cuts, including the elimination of all service between BWI Airport and Lake Shore Plaza. Service to Pinewood Village was replaced by a new branch of Route 14, and service on Mountain Road was discontinued. Route 17 was also combined with Route 12 and extended to Parkway Center.
In 2001, with the opening of Arundel Mills mall in Hanover, Maryland, Route 17 was extended once more to this area, and all trips terminating at BWI Airport were routed through Arundel Mills. Sunday service was added to accommodate mall visitors.
When arriving at BWI Airport, drivers dropping off passengers should use the Departures/Upper Level roadway. For those picking up passengers, it is recommended to utilise the Arrivals/Lower Level roadway, and passengers should not call their driver until they are ready to exit the airport terminal.
