CLEAR Plus Lane in the International Terminal

This replaces the need to take out a wallet and driver's license. After verification, a CLEAR Ambassador escorts members through the dedicated lane and directly to TSA physical security.

Non-CLEAR Plus Members can purchase a one-time pass for $9, issued via email. After purchasing a pass, the QR code will be emailed to you, granting you access to the CLEAR Mobile Lane for the reserved travel day. The pass is valid for 24 hours and can be used anytime on the day of your reservation. Non-members can also access the CLEAR Mobile Lane by showing their QR code in the CLEAR App.

Children under 18 can join CLEAR Plus Members in the CLEAR Mobile Lane for free. Anyone older than 18 must have a CLEAR Plus Membership or purchase a pass. CLEAR Mobile Lanes are available at select airports, including Newark Liberty International Airport, Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, and LaGuardia Airport.

This development is a result of the expanding partnership between CLEAR and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The Port Authority's Aviation Director, Huntley A. Lawrence, emphasised that this initiative is a critical part of their commitment to enhance the travel experience with innovative technology while maintaining health and safety measures.

With CLEAR's presence at Newark Liberty International Airport's Terminal B, members can now utilise CLEAR's dedicated lanes to efficiently verify their identity by simply using their eyes, eliminating the need to fumble for their wallet and driver's license. After successful verification, a CLEAR Ambassador will escort members through the dedicated lane directly to TSA physical security, ensuring a seamless and expedited security process.

This expansion has increased CLEAR's footprint across the New York metropolitan region, now offering 10 security lanes across four airports, including EWR, John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and Westchester County Airport (HPN). The addition of Terminal B at EWR brings the total number of CLEAR's expedited lanes across the country to 109, located in 39 airports. This expansion also resulted in the creation of 14 new jobs at Newark Liberty International Airport, contributing to an overall annual economic impact of $5.6 million for the airport and the city of Newark.

On July 29, 2019, United Airlines announced a new partnership with CLEAR, a secure identity company that uses biometrics to build a seamless and secure world. The partnership includes free or discounted CLEAR membership pricing for U.S.-based MileagePlus members. United also made a strategic equity investment in CLEAR to support its growth, including bringing CLEAR to the airline's hubs at Newark Liberty International Airport and Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
