Dublin Airport has a dedicated smoking area past check-in, which is located outdoors in Terminal 1. Terminal 2 does not have a smoking area past security. However, if you need to smoke, you can walk to the smoking area in Terminal 1, which takes about 10 to 15 minutes each way.

To get to the smoking area in Terminal 1, follow the signs for "lounges" (lower floor) and keep walking straight past the DAA, Aer Lingus, and Etihad lounges. It will take about 5 to 7 minutes from the Etihad lounge. Alternatively, you can go through the T1 Duty-Free shop, past most of the bars, restaurants, and shops, and take the escalator up a level. There is also a very small bar in the smoking area that sells 3 draught lagers and a draught cider, as well as a small selection of bottles.

Please note that once you enter the US pre-clearance area, you cannot come back out, so make sure to smoke before going through security.
