RTD's Access-a-Ride service is a specialised service for people with disabilities. The service is available to and from any location within 3/4 mile of RTD's local fixed-route transit system. To be eligible for Access-a-Ride, you must meet one of the following criteria set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:
- Be unable to get to and from a bus stop or get on and off a lift-equipped fixed-route bus by yourself.
- Have a disability that prohibits you from using a fixed-route bus independently.
Eligibility is determined by the impact of a disability or disabling condition on one's ability to use bus/rail services, not by the presence of a disabling condition. To apply for Access-a-Ride, you must complete an application form and a Medical Verification form, which must be taken to your medical provider for completion. Once RTD has reviewed your documents, they will forward them to their assessment centre, and you will be contacted to schedule an in-person certification appointment. RTD will provide transportation to this appointment if needed. At the appointment, ID photos will be taken, and you will be asked to bring any mobility aids you primarily use or will use on public transportation.
All Access-a-Ride customers, except visitors, are issued a photo identification card, which must be shown when boarding any Access-a-Ride or Access-on-Demand vehicle. Visitors with paratransit eligibility in their city of residence can have the relevant transit agency forward documentation of that eligibility to Access-a-Ride. Visitors without paratransit eligibility should contact RTD's office to provide documentation regarding their need for paratransit services, such as a physician letter verifying their disability. Visitors are not issued an Access-a-Ride ID card and must pay a fare to use RTD's fixed-route services.

The Longmont Ride Free Fare Program, or RFL, provides free rides to Longmont residents on local bus routes 323, 324, 326, and 327. The Bolt, LD, LX, and FlexRide bus routes are not included in the Longmont Free Fare Program. However, riders of routes 323, 324, 326, or 327 may request a 3-hour pass that is valid for transfers to the Bolt, LD, and LX routes, the Longmont FlexRide, and all other routes serving Boulder and Denver.
To get from Longmont to the Denver International Airport (DIA), one option is to take the RTD transit from the RTD lot at 104th and Colorado (just south of 104th). The lot is called Thornton Crossroads - 104th Station and has a covered 4-story parking garage that is free for Longmont residents. From there, you can take the 104L bus (with limited stops) directly to the airport.
Another option for getting to the airport is the Eight Black shuttle service, which offers sales and travel credits and costs around $30 from Longmont to the DIA.
